Isle of Anglesey County Council

Holyhead sites and premises

A total of 10 new business units have been developed on the Penrhos Industrial Estate in Holyhead.

The redevelopment of the former heliport into business units has provided 10 units which total over 2,800m2 of office, light industrial and storage space to enable business growth and support of the low carbon energy sector.

The project was part of Isle of Anglesey County Council efforts to support business development and job creation on the island.

Anglesey’s Economic Development officers successfully applied for £2.3m from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Welsh Government and, in a first for Anglesey, agreed an innovative joint venture – worth £1.6m - with the Welsh Government. The project is part of wider plans to develop Anglesey’s Enterprise Zone and Energy Island Programme.

The development was completed in late 2020 and new tenants have now occupied the units.

Phase two

A second phase of development is set to commence during 2022 which will provide an additional 7 business units on the Penrhos industrial estate.

Wynne Construction have been appointed the contract to develop the units with an expected completion of winter 2022.
