Please read all the content on this page before you report a missed bin collection.
All bins
Make sure that your bins are put out for collection before 7am on your collection day.
If you put your bins out by 7am on your usual collection day and it was not collected by 5pm, please contact the Waste Management Section before 12pm on the second working day following your usual collection day.
If your bins collection was missed on a Friday please contact the Waste Management Section by 12pm the following Tuesday to report this.
If you do not report a missed collection by 12pm on the second working day following your usual collection day, your bin, recycling trolley or mini food waste bin won’t be collected before the next scheduled collection.
Green bins - no sticker, no collection
If you do not put your new sticker on your green bin, it will not be collected and emptied.
You will need to wait for your sticker to arrive through the post if you have recently paid for a green garden waste collection.
You may report a missed collection for your green bin if:
- the sticker for this year is displayed in the correct position on the bin and
- you put your bins out by 7am on your usual collection day and it was not collected by 5pm and
- you have not left it later than 12pm on the second working day after the missed collection (if your bins collection was missed on a Friday you have until 12pm the following Tuesday to report it)
Forgetting to put out the bin/trolleybox for collection
Your bins will not be collected until the next scheduled visit if you missed a collection because you placed your bin, recycling trolley or mini food waste bin out at the incorrect time or collection day.
Satellite tracking system on bin lorries
The refuse and recycling vehicles are fitted with satellite tracking systems that record the time and date they visit your property to collect your bins and boxes.
So, if your bins and boxes are not out for collection when the vehicles visit your property on collection day, it will not be classed as a missed collection.
Please make sure that all bins and boxes are placed at your collection point by 7am on your collection day for your waste and recycling to be collected.
