Oriel Môn are looking for a company or individual with catering experience to run their busy café in Llangefni.
On 1 April, they will be saying goodbye to St David’s Hospice, who have held the catering contract at the Café since 2019.
This exciting opportunity will be advertised through “Sell2Wales” during the next few weeks. If you are interested in taking up this venture, please contact Oriel Môn Senior Manager, Esther Roberts, for an informal discussion on 01248 752009 or via email: Orielynysmon@ynysmon.llyw.cymru
Esther explained, “It has been a pleasure working with St David’s Hospice throughout the period of this agreement. The staff and catering provisions have been exceptional.”
“One of the main aims of the charity at the beginning of the catering agreement was to raise money for a new hospice in Holyhead, and we are glad that this was achieved during their time at the Oriel.”
“They have continued to provide a service throughout a very difficult period for the catering sector as a result of the pandemic and the challenges that followed. We wish the charity and their staff all the best for the future.”
From 1 April, the catering provisions on offer at Oriel Môn will be slightly different until a new contract is agreed. In the meantime, the Oriel is hoping to work with local businesses to offer a variety of food and drink to those visiting Oriel Môn.
Esther Roberts added, “With so many high-quality produce and producers available locally on the Island, I look forward to see which company will be creating a new menu for our visitors. This is an excellent opportunity to take advantage of the special space that we have available and the high-quality foods that are on offer locally.”
“Like most indoor attractions across Wales the past two years have affected our visitor numbers, but with things opening up once again, we feel very positive for the future.”
The Chief Executive of St David’s Hospice, Trystan Pritchard, said, “As the Hospice’s time running the cafe at Oriel Môn comes to an end, we are extremely grateful to all our customers and the Isle of Anglesey County Council for their support with the venture. It has been a very challenging period for us as a charity but we are delighted that the Hospice in Holyhead has been established and offers end of life care services to local communities.”
