Library Services’ ‘call and collect’ set to expand

Following a successful pilot at Holyhead and Llangefni Libraries, the Call and Collect Service is set to be offered at all libraries on the island by the end of the July.

The Service has been operational from the two libraries for the past two weeks. Demand has been high, with over 260 people having received a book pack already.

Call and Collect Service

  • Order your selection of books online, or phone your local library and tell the staff what type of books you’d like
  • Staff will use their knowledge of books and choose a selection for you
  • A collection date and time will be arranged for you to collect the books from the library entrance. Entry into the building will not be permitted during this first phase of reopening
  • All books will be automatically renewed – so no fines will be issued

The Call and Collect Service will be available at your local library from the following dates:

Amlwch Library: 21/7/20

Menai Bridge Library: 21/7/20

Benllech Library: 24/7/20

Beaumaris Library: 24/7/20

Rhosneigr Library: 27/7/20

The Housebound Home Delivery Service has also returned to Service since Monday, July 13. Please phone Llangefni Library (01248 752095) if you would like more information about this doorstep delivery service.

Cllr Meirion Jones, Portfolio Holder for Culture, said “This is an excellent service that many of our customers have been extremely grateful for. We are very excited to soon be able to offer this service at all of our libraries on the island”.
