Local residents are being encouraged to let the county council and its partners know what is important to them to help inform future priorities.

A new five-week joint engagement process gets underway today (Thursday 10 February) as Anglesey looks to agree the aims and objectives in its Council Plan for 2022-27.

The county council is undertaking the wide-ranging inclusive engagement process with Medrwn Môn, which provides support and advice to voluntary organisations and community groups, and Age Cymru, the national charity for older people in Wales.

The council’s ambition is to work with the people of Anglesey, its communities and partners to deliver high quality services that will improve the quality of life for everyone.

Residents can have their say as part of the Anglesey Priorities: Your Views online survey, which can be found here: www.anglesey.gov.uk/yourviews You can complete the survey as an individual; a family; community group; or as county, town or community councillor.

You’ll be asked about your views on a number of areas - ranging from employment opportunities and travel to health matters; accessibility and equality to reducing carbon emissions.

Anglesey Chief Executive, Annwen Morgan, said, “Over the next five weeks, we’d like to hear from Anglesey residents – so we can understand more about their priorities, concerns and ambitions for Anglesey. Public feedback will form an important part of the process as we look to shape and influence the Council Plan 2022-27 and agree on how we can improve the quality of life for our communities and residents through inclusive partnership working.”

“The online survey will be available between 10 February 2022 and 18 March 2022.”

She added, “We’ll also be ensuring that the views of the Island’s young people, older adults and hard to engage groups are heard through separate arrangements, as part of our wide-ranging engagement work with Medrwn Môn and Age Cymru.”

This online survey will take around 10 minutes to complete. It is completely anonymous, but will provide an opportunity to leave your contact details if you would like to be informed of the survey’s results and more about the Council Plan 2022-2027.

Hard copies will also be available at our leisure centres, libraries (including mobile library), Oriel Môn and Contact Môn reception area at the main council offices in Llangefni.

Council Leader, Councillor Llinos Medi, added, “Collaborative engagement is important if we are to ensure that the county council has robust and meaningful plans in place for the future. Input from our residents, communities and partners will be essential to deliver our priorities over the next five years.

“There will be undoubtedly be challenges ahead as we come through the Coronavirus pandemic. However, by working together with the people of Anglesey, its communities and our partners we hope to build a brighter future for all.”
